Senator says Russia mulls building car bridge to North Korea
MOSCOW, Mar 21 (PRIME) -- Members of the Federation Council, Russian parliament’s supreme chamber, discussed building a car bridge between Russia and North Korea during a visit to the country, Senator Alexander Bashkin told PRIME on Thursday.
“We have discussed restoration of full-scale transport connection between Russia and North Korea. We are calculating reasonability of building a car bridge,” Bashkin said. He said that the viability of the project will rise manifold if North Korea and South Korea manage to resume their transport communication.
Russia is interested in strengthening economic cooperation with North Korea, he said.
